Gachibowli's dedicated children's bone & joint specialist

Dr. Mrudula is a passionate Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon practising at KIMS-SUNSHINE Hospital, Gachibowli, with over 9 years of experience dedicated exclusively to children's musculoskeletal health. She chose paediatric orthopaedics because it is a unique blend of medical intervention, long-term patient relationships, and a deep focus on healthy childhood development.

Her philosophy is simple but powerful: correcting a deformity in a five-year-old alters the trajectory of their entire life. She ensures children can play, run, and grow without permanent physical limitations — and because children are highly resilient, outcomes are often transformative. She treats the whole family unit, building deep trust with anxious parents, and often follows patients from infancy through adolescence, watching them thrive.

Dr. Mrudula holds an MS in Orthopaedics from Bhaskar Medical College and completed a prestigious Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Paediatric Orthopaedics at CMC Vellore (2021–2023) — one of India's premier institutions. She is a multiple gold-medal winner at national conferences and has received state-level recognition for academic excellence.

Common parent questions

01 Do all child fractures require surgery?
Most children's fractures do not need surgery. Children's bones have remarkable healing ability, and the majority of fractures are managed effectively with casting or splinting alone. Dr. Mrudula always explores conservative options first, and surgery is reserved for specific fracture patterns where conservative care cannot ensure a good outcome.
02 My child walks with feet pointing inward — does this need surgery?
90% of children with inward-pointing feet (intoeing gait) correct themselves naturally by 10 years of age. This is one of the most common concerns parents bring in, and reassurance is usually all that's needed. Dr. Mrudula evaluates each child carefully to identify the rare cases that do need intervention, so you can have peace of mind either way.
03 My child plays in the sun but is still Vitamin D deficient — why?
Vitamin D synthesis from sunlight requires exposure during peak UV hours — between 11 AM and 3 PM. Playing outdoors in the morning or evening produces very little Vitamin D. Along with sun exposure at the right time, a good quality diet with calcium and protein-rich foods is essential for healthy bone development. Supplementation may also be needed in many urban children.
